Telekinesis is an adept-level spell that allows users to move distant items and objects to their location. You can then add such items to your inventory to throw them as a projectile.
Telekinesis is also the only Alteration class spell that gives a massive amount of experience points. Most players often take advantage of this spell and use it to level up their Alteration quickly.
So to get the Telekinesis spell, you’ll have to get its Spell Tome. There are a couple of ways to get the spell book. You can either buy it from wizard merchants like Tolfdir and Wylandriah or find it from the world loot.
We’ll start off by talking about the merchants and where you can find them.
Buy the Spell Tome from Merchant
There are only two wizard merchants in particular who will sell you the Spell Tome: Telekinesis. The Spell Tome will start appearing in their inventory after you’ve reached level 50 in Alteration.
Tolfdir
The first merchant on our list is, Tolfdir. He’s a master of Alternation magic, and you can find him at the College of Winterhold.
He’s also among the few mage merchants who will sell you rare Spell Tome like Telekinesis, Ebonyflesh, and Waterbreathing.
Wylandriah
The second mage merchant who sells Telekinesis Spell Tome is Wylandriah. She’s a Wood Elf who serves as the Court Wizard in Riften. You’ll often find her at her shop inside the Mistveil Keep.
Note: If you’re unable to find the Spell Tome even after reaching the required level, wait for a couple of in-game days, as it will reset the merchant’s inventory.
From World Loot
Besides getting the Spell Tome from the merchants, you can also get it from random world loot drops.
In the base game, you’ll have a chance of getting the Spell Tome from chests in Giant Camps, Dragon Lairs, Boss Loot Chests, Dwarven Chests, and even from the Seeker enemies in the Apocrypha realm.
You should know that the loot spawn is not guaranteed, though. In fact, the chances of getting the Telekinesis Spell Tome is very slim.
Furthermore, since Telekinesis is an Adept level spell, you’ll also have to level up your Alteration to 23+ for the Spell Tome to be even included in the world loot pool.
However, the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLC expansion added two distinct areas where the Spell Tome of Telekinesis is a guaranteed spawn. They are as follows.
Redwater Den
The first area is the Redwater Den, located north of Heartwood Mill. You’ll find the Spell Tome in a jail cell next to a corpse.
- Head to the location and enter the ruined house.
- Enter the hatch to the Redwater Den.
- Once you’re inside the facility, you’ll have a couple of ways to access the Spell Tome location. You can either sneak your way to the jail cell or simply drink a Redwater Skooma to get carried inside the cell.
Benkenrekie Cave
You’ll find this cave towards the east of Saering’s Watch in the northern part of Solstheim.
- Enter the cave and venture through until you reach the Benkongerike Great Hall.
- Enter the hall, and you’ll find a tent to your right. Inside the tent, you’ll find the Telekinesis Spell Tome under the pile of books.
Using Console Command
PC players have the advantage of getting the Telekinesis spell easily via the Console Command. It’s a tool that is mainly used for debugging purposes.
- Press the ‘~‘ key on your keyboard to open the Console menu.
- Type in
player.addspell 1A4CC - Press Enter and exit the console menu via the tilde key.
