The Ace of Spades is a type of hand cannon in Destiny 2. A hand cannon is considered the number one primary weapon and is very popular in the game.
In the past, players needed to complete a quest in Forsaken to receive the Ace of Spades. Now it’s slightly different and you don’t have to grind it out. Keep reading to know whether the Ace of Spades is still available and how you can get your hands on it.
What is the Ace of Spades?
The Ace of Spades is specially designed for Cayde-6. During the expansion’s primary campaign, Cayde-6 is killed by Uldren Sov. In the lore, we discover that the guardian gets the weapon back from Uldren.
With the Ace of Spades, you can deal heavy and quick damage to enemies. The weapon also has unique perks and provides the user with added stats. In addition to that, there are two awesome upgrades you can make to this weapon.
Firefly
This is an intrinsic trait of the weapon. As the players get more precision kills, the reload speed of the weapon increases. I usually use it to destroy large groups of enemies. When the reload speed increases, the targets also explode and cause solar damage to nearby enemies. The players can also collect more precision kills with this weapon.
Memento Mori
This is an additional ability that activates when using the Ace of Spades. The damage of the bullets increases after each enemy kill. As players reload after a kill, the following bullets deal extra damage.
A combination of the firefly and memento mori trait works perfectly. The reload speed combined with the splash damage allows users to destroy enemy lines.

How to Get Ace of Spades in Destiny 2 ?
You can purchase the weapon from the Exotic Archive also called the Monuments to Lost Lights in the Tower. You will, however, need other items to purchase the weapon. You have to either collect the items from your missions or purchase them. Here’s the list of items you need to get the Ace of Spades:
- Exotic Cipher: You can obtain the cipher by completing the quest from Xur. Every week you get a chance to complete the quest and earn one Exotic cipher. If you purchase the season pass, you’re able to collect it as well.
- Glimmer: I’m sure you’re already aware of how to obtain Glimmer as you need them to purchase items from vendors. The best way to do it is to trade glimmer for planetary resources with The Spider which is the vendor at The Forgotten shore. You need 125,000 glimmer to purchase the Ace of Spades so you must complete enough missions. Additionally, Glimmers are also used to purchase upgrade modules.
- Etheric Spiral: The Etheric Spiral is found in the Tangled Shore. You’ll have to move around the area and search for the item. Players can also get them as a reward in some of Spider’s bounties. The item can be found in Four-Horn Gulch but it may take a while to find. You’ll need 200 of these to purchase the Ace of Spades.
- Ascendant Shard: This item is considered one of the rarest items as its used to upgrade exotic armors. The Ascendant shards are available for purchase in the tower from Banshee-44 or Master Rahool. Another efficient way to obtain Ascendant Shard is to dismantle masterwork armor. You can also receive the shard as a reward for completing master nightfalls or raid encounters. While a season pass can also help you get a hold of these shards, the ultimate way to collect a shard is by completing Grandmaster or Master Nightfalls.Once you’ve collected all these items, go to the Monuments to Lost Lights. There in the tower, you can buy the hand cannon. Enjoy destroying enemies with this powerful cannon.
