Jose Gregorio Zapata Urdaneta is a video game writer and a casually addicted gamer. Jose Zapata has worked as a video game writer for over four years. He focuses on video game troubleshooting, game lists, and game guides. His first console was a SNES in 1994, and his first games were Star Fox and Super Mario. Since he was a kid, he learned he had a passion for playing, sharing, and talking about games, so he pursued the endeavor with a Social Communication bachelor's degree. His favorite genre is RTS (real-time-strategy), so he plays Age of Empires IV, Age of Empires II, Total War: Warhammer III, Starcraft II, and others. He also has a passion for the type of open-world games where he can create his adventures, such as Minecraft and, with tons of mods, Fallout 4. And like every other gamer, he also likes action-RPG games such as Elden Ring or Mass Effect, although he has a soft spot for classic turn-based RPGs like Original Sin II or the Baldur's Gate Saga. He also manages two YouTube channels. One of these features semi-professional gameplay for eSports players (Rocket League, Warzone, and others). Additionally, he has a background as a musician (bass player), and he used to write musical tutorials and reviews for BegginnerGuitarHQ.

One of the new features in Fortnite Chapter 4 (Season 2) is hiding in snowballs, haystacks, and leaf stacks. Particularly, hiding in a giant snowball was part of a weekly challenge that asks you to visit the Brutal Bastion, the Lonely Labs, and the Frosty First locations. The challenge was difficult because hiding in snowballs is a new mechanic. Moreover, Frosty First is not one of the nine locations marked on the new map. However, the challenge is not currently available, and neither is hiding in a snowball. You can still hide in a haystack or leave stacks, though. Either…

Currently, you can gain XP on the Save the World game mode as well as the standard multiplayer Battle Royale mode. Each level requires 80,000 XP, and it’s a fixed…

Horses are everyone’s favorite mob in Minecraft. And while they are passive and friendly, they need food to be happy and loyal, and they accept a lot of vegetables. The food horses accept are—sugar, wheat, Hay Bale, apples, Golden Carrots, Golden Apples, and Enchanted Golden Apples. Most of these items produce the same effects on horses—which is that you feed them so they can recover life. That is particularly useful when you’re using a saddle to ride the horse. Golden Apples play a particular role, though. In specific, you can feed some of these items to horses to tame them. Horses have a…

Minecraft is a game of blocks—it has squares, triangles, and more squares and more triangles. But you may want to break its rules, go beyond its physics and draw or build a circle. Luckily for you, you don’t need a degree in engineering or architecture to do it, but you may need a guide. Believe me, it’s not an intuitive process, but it’s also not essential. It’s just for aesthetics, an extra tool you can have for your creative structures like your house. It would help if you had no more than your trusty wood planks or any other construction…

Animals are plentiful in the Minecraft realm. Some of them are cuter than others, and most are available to breed, tame, and take with you. You’d want leads for any of these tasks though. Leads are tools you can craft. They look like ropes, and you can use these ropes as leashes to lead neutral and passive animals. That ranges from golems to dogs, but we’ll share a specific list later on. You can find leads on chests from Ancient Cities, Woodland Mansions, and Buried Treassures – leads only appear on Buried Treassures in the Bedrock Edition. These places may…

Your home in Minecraft can be as basic or as complex as you’d like. It can range from a wooden cabin with basic crafting blocks to castles, cities, massive underground bases, and fancy houses. Complex structures are okay for people who already know how to build a house. You may need some further guidance—and we’ve already created a Minecraft beginner’s guide. For now, let’s go through what your house needs, building materials, decorative blocks, and other tips. What Counts as a House in Minecraft? A house is a space where you live, and it can be a house as long…

It sounds counterintuitive, but construction materials don’t make a difference in Minecraft. Wood logs are as durable as stone blocks or any other block. There is no material decay or similar features in the game. Will that deter you from using bricks? I don’t think so, because the bricks look amazing. That’s the point, though. In Minecraft, your choice of construction materials comes down to whether or not you like them, and how easy it is to find or craft the blocks of your choice. Mainly, bricks are items you use to craft brick blocks, and you need the Furnace…

Perhaps you have advanced significantly in your Minecraft journey. You’re past the basics—your new goal is building pretty things and customizing your spaces. We introduce Terracotta, a type of block you can use to build anything. The best thing about it is that you can customize it with the 16 available dyes, such as pink or green.  It’s also fairly easy to find—all you need to do is smelt clay in the Furnace, or search the areas where it naturally spawns. Nevertheless, it would be best to find clay and craft a Furnace first. Afterward, we’ll craft and place Terracotta blocks…

Navigating Minecraft worlds can be difficult, and even using the in-game coordinate system can make it harder. These realms are massive, intricate and full of caves and locations to explore and conquer. There’re a couple of things that make navigating easier, though. For example, you can build big or impressive structures such as beacons to mark locations. You can also place banners on different parts of the Seed, and craft a map with paper. But if you want to reach legendary explorer status, you should get a compass. You can craft it on the Crafting Table, loot it, and trade…

Is it time to customize your house, furniture, clothes, and pets in Minecraft? Well, you can do it through dyes. Dyes can put color on many customizable items such as banners, and there are several options. Green dye is one of the primary dyes, like red dye and blue dye. In other words, combining the green option with blue or red will yield another color, exactly like in your preschool experiments. And because it’s a basic coloring item, getting it is easy—although you need a Furnace (it won’t work on a Blast Furnace). Here’re the ingredients you need for Green…
